HANDSET UPDATE SERVICE

HUS Standard Package

offers customers the opportunity of tuning the level and frequency of terminal updates in their Sicap product. By submitting device "wish-lists" as part of the Service Level Agreement, Operators can influence device integration into the base and anticipate their customer needs. Sicap's strong relationships with handset manufacturers fine-tune the selection of devices and warrant accessibility of new-to-the-market devices. This well-proven process of device release planning guarantees the customer's maximum influence on Sicap's device roadmap in combination with following the latest device market trends.

Device release cycles can be chosen according to the Operator's need and vary from 2-weekly up to half-yearly device upgrades. A device release includes an average of 10-15 selected devices. For urgent devices, Sicap also offer priority upgrades as an on demand devices integration service.

HUS Operator Package

is a complement to the standard Handset Update Service. While the standard Handset Update Service provides updates for standard devices ("vanilla" devices) tested in a generic environment, the HUS Operator Package focuses on supporting Operator branded devices, tested in the Operator environment. Furthermore, interoperability testing of customised mobile applications from 3rd party providers is included.
The release lifecycle of devices is adapted to meet the Operator's device releases. This extended service provides network operators with a way of outsourcing parts of their terminal qualification process and ensures hassle-free relationships with manufacturers, while Sicap is dealing with upcoming issues during handset validation processes.
