UNIFIED BACKUP & RESTORE

Unified Backup and Restore is SIM vendor independent. It provides a complete solution to personal data issues by enabling control of a subscriber device / (U)SIM phonebook plus personal data and settings. It enables mobile operators to increase ARPU whilst providing a valuable service for customers intent on keeping their data on the device at all times. It encourages device replacements by offering easy transfer of personal information to the new device, and strengthens customer loyalty.

UBR is commonly used by customers when :

• purchasing a new handset
• duplicating two handsets owned by the same customer
• retrieving data from a defective handset (i.e. display or connectivity failure) in repair scenarios
• helping business sales support personnel replacing/upgrading the handsets of a corporation

Over-The-Air (U)SIM Card Phonebook Backup

Enables operators to offer subscribers an incremental phonebook backup and restore service for 2G SIM and 3G USIM cards. Wireless device or server initiated synchronisation over SMS or BIP makes it possible for operators to offer a value added service with high income potential.

Over-The-Air Device Phonebook Backup

Enables users to wirelessly synchronise the contents of their device's standard phonebook anytime, practically anywhere in the world. It works with the remote synchronisation facility built into the operating systems of all SyncML devices. Naturally, this module also offers support for subscribers using legacy devices without SyncML. This is achieved via a client that emulates the SyncML protocol to backup and restore their device phonebook.

The WAP/WEB Backup Address Book

Enables users to share and update their address books with friends, colleagues and multiple mail clients whilst being able to update these contacts online through an enhanced user interface.

Unified Backup and Restore Solution is based on open interfaces and industry standards assuring a cost effective, seamless integration with existing billing and customer care systems. Additionally, Sicap's Unified Backup and Restore Solution can be integrated with messaging systems to generate portal based SMS and e-mail.
