A pioneer in SMS-C and MMS-C connection tools and mobile message routing, the Multimedia Mobile Gateway (MMG) is a carrier-grade platform designed to manage all application to person messaging traffic. The New Gateway v4.3.0 features :
Number Portability
Number portability management is a new cost-saving feature of the gateway, and untangles the Web of routing messages to their home network. This has become complex since the arrival of number portability, or the possibility for customers to change operator but keep the same MSISDN. The latter not longer enables an operator to identify the home network.
Recognition of the home network is now achieved by deploying the Sicap database in the gateway. The gateway manages all message processing from applications (MT messages), so that messages are identified and processed on the appropriate SMS-C. The result is a considerable reduction in broker costs for message handling.
Aliasing - a great anti-spam tool
Stops mobile subscriber numbers getting into the hands of senders of un-solicited messages by encrypting them as they transit the gateway. The output is a short-lived alias, of no future value for contacting the subscriber after serving its initial purpose of communicating an operator-approved message to the customer. Alias are generated dynamically from MSISDN and Service ID when MO transit the MMG.
Real Time Message Delivery - multiply throughput X 3
Real time delivery of messages (MRTD) means that one-shot messaging campaigns where no acknowledgement of delivery is required are sent efficiently from applications via a link (SS7 Direct,SMSC,MMSC...) with no storage in the gateway. Associating the Bulk Manager module, MRTD enables campaigns of millions of SMS to be delivered within hours of triggering. Real time delivery is valid even for large MMS file sizes. Use Real Time...
For bulk campaigns where no traceability is required.
Use store-and-forward...
For messages requiring a high level of QoS (retry mechanisms, traceability,ACK).
3rd party traffic management
Operators can install MMG before the messaging service centre as a pre-processing platform to control service provider traffic. For operators, MMG ensures secure and flexible revenue-sharing schemes and SLA definition. Third parties can rapidly connect their applications or services to the MMG using industry standard APIs. MMG logs data on users and their device which can be forwarded to service providers.
Data traffic hub
MMG can be deployed as a central hub for global applications and service providers to dispatch traffic across all its subsidiary networks.
Internal traffic router
MMG can act as a router for all the internal messaging traffic, allowing efficient dispatching of customer care notifications such as low-credit or roaming messages.
Network resource management
Protect network resources with traffic flow control through a configurable rule system. MMG enables operators to assign traffic capacities to applications, define back-up routes and perform load-balancing. SMS-Direct add-on can be deployed to act as a relief SMS-C for flexible control of messaging resources.
