DEVICE MANAGEMENT CENTER

Reduce call-center costs with automated settings update
DMC shifts configuration tasks from the user side to the operator side by automatically updating the service configuration of devices detected in the network. Settings such as GPRS, WAP, MMS, push-to-talk, email and internet browsing all need device -specific configurations which are managed seamlessly and without user intervention. With DMC automatic settings updates, new customer devices are always "off the shelf-ready to use" and maintained throughout their lifecycle.

  • Features continuous provisioning: Sicap DMC reads OMA-DM continuous provisioning protocol, enabling automated updates to the growing number of OMA-DM devices, for advanced customer care.

Stimulate PC-like services with application management
Remotely check applications and software versions on customer devices, then allow customers to install or update applications. Value-added applications such as anti-virus, information services or games are popular downloads for enabled devices. Add «Exchange» email settings for instance to all Windows devices in the network. A silent command to the device client modifies the Active sync registry.

Market a wipe-and-lock offer for corprate customers
IT admin can lock/unlock any device from the back office interface and set security rules. A “wipe” command will erase all ontent.

Market a data back up and restore service for corporate customers.
IT admin of a corporate fleet can retrieve any content from the device. IT can back up and restore corporate data by sending regular commands to silently retrieve selected device
elements and store them on the server. IT admin can also backup all data related to a specific device
through the diagnostic interface.

Resolve interoperability issues with server-side firmware and software updates (FOTA - SCOMO)
Interoperability between the radio access network and devices has become difficult to achieve. Network operations and upgrades may affect the performance of devices already commercialised to the subscriber base.Remote firmware updates over-the-air (FOTA) enable operators to solve interoperability issues and maintain service for customers by configuring update patches on the server side for download, installation and tracking of firmware for customer care. DMC enables Customer Care to check firmware versions installed on individual devices and track individual updates on a user-friendly interface. Sicap focuses on interoperability testing with some 15 device vendors and client providers in order to implement software component management (SCOMO).Based on a flexible set of rules, the Sicap solution automatically selects the appropriate software updates for each device and then remotely downloads and installs it.

Synchronize Device & SIM address books
Interoperability between Sicap Device and SIM operations means for instance that when a customer changes his device, the automatic detection feature of the Device Management Center (DMC) checks its capabilities and subsequently triggers a message via OTA-SIM to update the subscriber SIM with the new service options. Merging Device and SIM platform capabilities also enables synchronization of SIM and device address books, thereby guaranteeing a complete backup and restore solution in case of loss. Users can also download configurations or applications to both their device and their SIM (see Sicap OTA SIM) from the same Web page.

Customize the look&feel of homescreens
Achieve a consistent look and feel for all devices sold. Using either a proprietary agent on the device, or a download through Application Management or FOTA delivery, operators can update their customer homescreens to confer a new look and feel for their brand. For OMA DM devices, a “homescreen” agent can register itself in the OMA DM tree, enabling updates such as link changes to WAP sites, remote wallpaper downloads and customization of menu shortcuts.

Branding your DM Services
Sicap DMC interface can be branded to fit a corporate identity and used by your corproate customers to ensure the security of sensitive business data and to manage access rights to corporate data applications, VPN access etc.
