DEVICE KNOWLEDGE CENTRE

Sicap Device Knowledge Center (DKC) is a database maintained by a dedicated team of Device Expertise engineers providing regularly updated information on device capabilities and properties.
Some uses are :

1. As a device search engine (includes pre-launch phones).
2. As a device comparison guide.
3. As the basis for recording in-house test results.
4. As the basis for recording bugs and device issues.
5. As an IOT tool for application providers.

Recognition of 3000 models by their IMEI is currently enabled and over 1000 device models are fully documented. DKC extends to documentation on around 300 features per device such as functionality test results and qualification details including hardware and software information and supported bearers. It also contains TAC and User Agent Profiles, protocols for all device management, content delivery and data synchronisation features.
Online help files are delivered for end-users to get configuration help over a Web interface.
DKC is available as a standalone platform with a full handset update service smart marketing campaigns. It can be integrated into the Sicap Device Management Center.
DKC intelligence can be deployed as a fully hosted service.

Phonepedia - the device search tool for customers.

DKC is used to offer the Sicap Phonepedia, a web-based or point-of-sales service allowing end users to find their perfect device via keywords. A flexible and user-friendly search engine finds mobile phones according to input on desired features and capabilities. For instance, camera lovers can check out which devices 5mp camera. Application lovers can see which devices have both an email push and an embeded GPS.

Interoperability certification for mobile application providers.

With our device knowledge and access to phones we provide application providers IOT services and assistance in view of obtaining a Sicap certification of compatibility for applications. Sicap certification approves applications in terms of installation/deinstallation requisites and functional requisites such as screen size formatting.

Sicap has on-going interoperability contracts with 15 Handset Manufacturers. Recognised by the Industry, Sicap certification is delivered by a dedicated Device Expertise Department boasting 7 years of experience and led by IOT engineers with a team of 15 dedicated device test specialists.
