Sicap’s Automatic Device Detection simulates the EIR (Equipment Identity Register) by handling signaling for checking IMEI. The EIR simulation allows operators to build a real-time database with all handsets in their mobile network. This database can be used to push real-time triggers to a de­vice management system when a new handset is detect­ed on the network.

The database can also be used for targeted marketing of device specific services or for new handsets a/o contracts to owners of older devices thus increasing revenue.
